PoolLevels does not collect your data. There is no account to create, no sign in, no analytics, no advertising and no third party trackers. What follows is the detail behind that sentence, including the one service the app does talk to.
What stays on your device
Everything you put into the app is stored locally on your phone and is not sent to us:
- Your pool profile. Volume in gallons, surface type, sanitizer type and water temperature.
- Your test readings and their history. pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid, chlorine and salt, with the date you tested.
- Strip photos and the colours read from them. Photographs you take or choose are processed on the device. They are not uploaded.
The app makes no network requests of its own. We have no server that receives your readings, which also means we cannot recover them if you lose your phone, and we cannot delete them on your behalf. Deleting the app removes all of it.
Camera and photo library
The app asks for camera access to photograph a test strip, and for photo library access if you choose an existing picture instead. Both are used only for that, only when you start it, and the image never leaves the device. You can decline either and still use the app by typing your readings.
The one third party: subscriptions
PoolLevels Pro is sold through the Apple App Store. Subscription status is managed by RevenueCat, which acts as our processor for entitlements.
- RevenueCat assigns an anonymous identifier. We do not give it your name, email address or any reading from your pool, because the app never asks us for them.
- It receives purchase and receipt information from Apple, plus basic device and app version details, in order to tell the app whether your subscription is active.
- Apple handles the payment itself. We never see your card details.
- RevenueCat's own policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
What we do not do
- No advertising and no advertising identifier. The app does not ask to track you.
- No analytics or crash reporting SDK.
- No selling or sharing of personal information, as those terms are used in United States state privacy laws. There is nothing to sell.
- No profiles, no marketing emails, no data brokers.
This website
poollevels.com is a set of static pages served from Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Cloudflare processes request data such as IP address in order to serve and protect the site, as any web host must. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the request needed to deliver them.
Children
PoolLevels is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects nothing, there is nothing for us to hold.
Your rights
Rights to access, correct, delete or port personal data apply to data a company holds. We hold none from the app, so these rights are satisfied directly on your device: the data is yours, visible in the app, and removed when you delete it. If you believe we hold something about you, write to us and we will tell you exactly what we have.
Changes
If the app ever starts collecting something, this page will say so before that version ships, and the date at the top will change. We will not quietly broaden it.
